Apollo Studio Jeweled Filigree Perfume Bottle
For
the vintage perfume bottle collectors out there ---
this piece is for you! This is a wonderful brass filigree
/ ormolu tall perfume bottle with lovely sparkling faceted
amethyst rhinestones. The piece was made by the Apollo
Studio of New York sometime in the mid teens (1915 -1919).
Apollo was famous for their use of ornate filigree to
create their jeweled vanity pieces. This bottle measures
8” tall – the stopper being 2 ¼”
in diameter and the center of the bottle about 3”
in diameter. The piece is in very nice condition showing
normal wear for its age – nothing really major
--- I see a few minute nicks in the metal on the foot
and some appropriate wear to the gilding. The amethyst
stones are all present and I see one very minor nick
on a corner to one of the center 4 stones – again
nothing major in the least, but worth mentioning just
the same – see photo. The perfume bottle is signed
on the bottom – “Apollo “– see
photos. A truly gorgeous perfume bottle ready to grace

This
classic book has been out of print for five years, and
used copies have actually sold for $200 on the Internet.
Now this volume is back in print in a greatly expanded,
revised edition. All pages of the original edition have
been retained and more than 800 perfume bottles are shown
in color. The revised edition adds new essays by three
leading perfume bottle authorities. Ken Leach describes
America's fascination with perfume bottles and related
items (c. 1910-1950), with special attention to the role
played by Hollywood. Ruth Forsythe writes about recent
reproductions of Czech perfume bottles. Madeleine France
provides new historical perspectives and offers a hierarchy
of perfume bottle categories to aid the collector.
Accompanying these essays are 62 new photographs in spectacular
color. With the addition of this new material, the book
has expanded from 128 to 16 pages. An up-to-date 1999
price guide concludes the work. This book provides essential
information to collectors, and is a visual delight to
all lovers of beauty.

with Huge Rhinestones. Three sided center each with huge
clear faceted clear Rhinestones. Matching Rhinestone on
the top crested stopper. Very fine detailed filigree Gold
toned metal. Round solid flower form base. Very tall at
almost 9 1/2". Glass dauber attached to the top is
fine. Glass bottle that screws into the center is fine
also. The only condition issue is one tiny area of Gold

Perfume Bottles Jeweled Hldr Dore Apollo Style
Circa
early 1900's this set is of very good quality and although
not marked is in the same class at Apollo, Dore' and
Silvercraft
Measures
4" across, 5 1/2" tall, and 2" wide.
All in excellent condition. Brass filigree is ornate
and heavy, no greening. Rests on 4 tiny ball feet, all
intact. Perfume bottles are removable and stoppers are
frosted glass. There is a tiny nic on the top point
of one stopper, not distracting.
Would
look wonderful displayed on an antique vanity with vintage

Antique Jewelled Apollo? Silvercraft?Atomizer
Here
is a wonderful old desirable and complete jeweled gold
perfume atomizer. I believe this is Silver Craft but it
might be Apollo. It stands a tall 8 1/2 inches tall. It
is complete and original except for the replacement rubber
squeeze ball. This one looks like it came straight out
of Cleopatra's dressing room. They don't get much finer
than this.

HUGE
APPOLO GOLD JEWELS ROCOCO PERFUME BOTTLE
METAL FILIGREE SAPPHIRE FACET JEWELS BARQOUE
This
is a gorgeous old 1800's brass and cut faceted crystal
"sapphire jewels" prong set into the filigree
metal of the perfume bottle, made for the boudoir of a
lovely Victorian lady so many years ago. It lanquished
in a closet of an old antebellum Southern Mansion here
in Galveston, until one day we went to an estate sale
there and went digging in the closet. It is in lovely
antique condition. MEASUREMENTS APPROXIMATELY: with top
in bottle 8 inches tall, main body 3 inches in diameter,
top with dauber 5 inches, circle of dauber 2.5 inches.
Even the is a slender glass dauber is intacthave survived
over a hundred years and is complete and without damage
as have the sapphire crystal jewels. There are not any
markings that I can see but I have another like this that
is marked APPOLO.
The
bottle itself is covered in a fancy baroque rococo almost
Italianate filigree meatal work that appears to have been
made of brass and chased with a gold wash or plate. This
is so much more beautiful that the photos. Perfect for
collectors of commercial perfumes bottles, Victorian or
Edwardian items, vanity collectibles or someone who just
loves beautiful works of art.

Silver Top Crystal Perfume Scent Bottle
This
is a beautiful Victorian silver metal and crystal glass
perfume bottle. It is 6" tall, 2 1/2" wide.
The actual bottle is silver metal covered with an ornate
raised design of flowers, shells, and decorative foliate
elements. The cap is similar and, attached with chain
to the cap, is a simple metal top where, uncovered,
the wick comes through.
This
is a true scent bottle! You open the top for the perfume
to slowly permeate the room and simply cover the wick
with the metal top if you've had enough scent! The bottom
has a hand-etched crystal stem on a crystal pedestal
base, covered with a band of ornate silver metal. Gosh,
the fine details all over this bottle are amazing! The
bottom of this silver band is stamped but I can't read
it.
The metal is probably silver plated. I didn't polish
it as some people like that old tarnished look.
This
bottle and the glass pedestal are in excellent condition.
It has no chips or cracks and all hardware is complete!

condition of this bottle is excellent. Cranberry coloured
glass is utterly exquisite. Elegant. Pale rose toned.
Striking contrast with the gold. Beautifully contoured
bottle with dauber. There are no chips, cracks, and
the dauber stem is fully intact. Fittings are fine.
Great beaded collar. Interior has traces of perfume.
There is a tiny bit of paper on the interior of the
bottle marked XX 2. of which, I have no idea.
Acid etched gold decoration around the base is superb.
Bold. Clean and sleek. There is no loss to the gold.
The DeVilbiss name is crisp, bright, and clear. There
are no apologies to this perfume bottle that I can detect.
If you are a collector of DeVilbiss, or art glass perfumes,
this small bottle would make a fun, exciting, and dazzling
piece to display.
